How He Loves

"Well, I thought about You the day Steven died,
And You met me between my breaking.
I know that I still love You, God, despite the agony.
...They want to tell me You're cruel,
But if Stephen could sing, he'd say it's not true, cause..."

A Very "Now" Sermon by Mark Driscoll

PLEASE WATCH this video. But before you do, stop everything you are doing, prepare your heart for embarrassment and conviction, and listen to Pastor Mark. This needs to be heard and understood.

Wings Like Eagles

The climb was lonely, ruthless, and pain-staking. It seemed the rocks beneath your bare feet were sharpened for ages to draw out the flowing life from your veins. The day was cold and dark, and the trees moaned as winds seemed to tear away at your face. Your body was letting you down, fatigued and weary, crimson spots showing through your clothes. Your mind echoed the voices of the spirits waiting to devour the moment you fell.

But Now

Its all gone.

A Warrior you once were.

A Conquerer you have become.

At the top of this peak. The last rock that stands highest under stars.

YOU STAND.

Breathe in the crisp, thin air. Flows of light spill between the scattering clouds. The bitter wind becomes sweet breeze to which revives your muscles and replenishes yours lungs. Your body rises feeling weightless and renewed. Everything is so silent, yet seems so loud.

Seize this moment, take it all in. Feel it.

You look out to see the neighboring mountains, all inferior to the kingdom you now stand upon. Before you, lie the lands that left you forgotten, beaten, and lost. You hear the voices of the brothers who encouraged you to begin this journey But so few bravely scaled this rock.

You are...

Fearless

Not a coward.

But you must make one last move.

The life of this journey does not die. You are far from reaching the end, my Son.

HOPE led your heart up this mountain.

FAITH will get you off.

This is it.

You clamp your hands tightly closed. Take in one last breath. A step back on the highest point. Your veins warm and ready, your hearth throbbing.
The anticipation sends you forward. Your legs awaken, your body leaps. Your eyes closed.

A beam of light shines through to your face. Your eyes open again. You are high, high above the peak, rising fast.

You are FREE.

Keep going my Son

Reach me.

Past the suns and moons and galaxies.

Come to Me.

You are FREE.

Let My love guide you on your way to my arms.

I will show you everything

"Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary; his undertanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength
Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted;
but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

~Isaiah 40:31

Outside Physics

Father,
What is it like outside of this world... outside of the finite boundaries of time and space... a place where imagination cannot outdo reality... where physical and spiritual no longer burden each other... and they meet to progress forward, fulfilling their purpose in complete perfection.

Mark Driscoll on Humor in the Bible!

Mark Driscoll. Wow. Never cease to make me laugh! Once of my favorite pastors to listen to and watch. Careful! You might get offended! He is pretty straight forward and REAL. These are very unique features for a pastor. We need more men like him leading our churches. I recommend going to Mars Hill Church's website (NOT ROB BELLS CHURCH! LOOK UP MARK DRISCOLL. ROB BELL CAN BE SKETCHY) and look up his sermons. He is very good and brutally proclaiming Biblical Manhood! Its changing my entire perspective on life!

The Fellowship of the Unashamed

I am a part of the fellowship of the Unashamed.
I have the Holy Spirit Power.
The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line.
The decision has been made. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.
I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.
My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure.
I am finished and done with low living, sight walking,
small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tame visions,
mundane talking, chintzy giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position,
promotions, plaudits, or popularity.
I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised,
regarded, or rewarded.
I now live by presence, learn by faith, love by patience,
lift by prayer, and labor by power.

My pace is set, my gait is fast, my goal is Heaven,
my road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions few,
my Guide is reliable, my mission is clear.
I cannot be bought, compromised, deterred, lured away,
turned back, diluted, or delayed.
I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the
presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy,
ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won't give up, back up, let up, or shut up until I've preached up,
prayed up, paid up, stored up, and stayed up for the cause of Christ.
I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.
I must go until He returns, give until I drop,
preach until all know, and work until He comes.

And when He comes to get His own,
He will have no problem recognizing me.
My colors will be clear for
"I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the
power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.." (Romans 1:16)
